Sincerely, Charnock Rd. Girls
Friday, January 30, 2009
Recently, our Girls coaches at Charnock Road Elementary asked their students to write letters to our newly elected President. With that simple prompt, what was produced were honest requests about personal hopes and concerns. Their candor is beautiful, the requests are straight-forward and their emphatic support is a sign that the "Obama generation" has transcended further than many ever thought possible. In the letters, our students made the most of their time with pen-pal Barack, asking for anything between a better world to more Vampire Teeth stores (a sign that maybe the Twilight sensation has transcended further than thought possible as well). Below you can read some excerpts from their letters. After you're done think about, if given the chance, what would you ask President Obama? Hopes? Concerns? Favorite ice-cream flavor? Let us know whats on your mind!
